South West Tourism Excellence Awards
St Michael's has been awarded Highly Commended in the category of Large Hotel of the Year at the annual South West Tourism Excellence Awards on 6 February 2012.
The awards are judged on the reports of a mystery shopper, who was responsible for scoring hotels across the whole of the South West in a number of areas included customer service, facilities, marketing and sustainability. Comments included:
• Great attention to detail and it appears from all the print, promotional material and website to be a very professional operation.
• I am sure it is directed with great passion and the financial investment to bring the hotel up to 4 star standard shows the commitment.
• It stands as a high quality hotel both within its category and within Cornwall.
Commenting on the news our Proprietor, Nigel Carpenter, said, “It is great to be recognised in this way and to be awarded Highly Commended by the judges of these prestigious awards is testament to the dedication and passion of the entire team here at St Michael’s.”
2012 marks the 10th anniversary of Nigel and Julie Carpenter owning St Michael’s Hotel & Spa and the completion of a £4 refurbishment project, which has seen the whole hotel undergo major renovation works.
